The Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas is looking for a highly qualified candidate to assist the Head in overseeing all aspects of program administration and operations of the Division.
Major responsibilities of the appointee include:
- overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate program administration, including admissions, curriculum management, student affairs, and academic advising.
- coordinating with faculty and staff from various schools and departments on individualized programs and cross-disciplinary curricular matters, including but not limited to course quotas, timetabling, and study requests;
- providing administrative support for faculty recruitment and budget matters.
- organizing workshops, events and activities.
- maintaining the Division’s webpage and promotion materials;
- overseeing daily operations of the Division and supervising staff; and
- assisting in new initiatives and performing other duties as assigned.
The appointee is expected to work with people with different academic and cultural backgrounds and at different levels. Occasional work outside normal office hours and/or out of Hong Kong may be required.
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of work experience in program administration. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills and be attentive to details and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. The appointee should also be willing to take on responsibilities and initiatives independently without constant supervision. Experience in academic program management and academic staff recruitment is a plus. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese including fluency in Putonghua is required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
