The position
- Provide investment expertise and advice to HKSTP companies, and subsequently match capital-seeking HKSTP companies with investors with focus on bio-related companies including pharmaceuticals, medical instruments and diagnostics
- Develop relationship and understanding with HKSTP’s bio-related companies and HKSTP's investor with appetite on bio-related companies
- Review and advise on corresponding business and capital raising plans for HKSTP’s bio-related companies
- Recommend HKSTP companies as appropriate to specific investors and facilitate subsequent discussions with the ultimate goal of closing the relevant transactions
- Support investor channel development team to develop bio-related and theme-based investment pitching events
- Establish and introduce new investors to enhance HKSTP’s investor network
- Collaborate and works closely with HKSTP’s bio-related account managers to ensure alignment of our capital-raising activities and advice with overall business development of our companies
- Handle other ad-hoc projects as assigned
The Candidate
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Investment, Finance Analytics or other related discplines, with focus on life science knowledge is preferred
- 5 years of experience, preferably working in front-line role in private or public raising
- Track-record in financial advisory or investment management role, and/ or for bio-related companies
- Knowledge on regulatory approval process for drugs and medical instruments e.g. FDA, NMPA, GBA connect scheme etc. would be desirable
- Understanding of start-up development phases and acceleration means
- Exhibit passion for building start-up ecosystem for Hong Kong
- Excellent interpersonal skills in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
