The Information Technology Services and Systems Office (ITSO) is responsible for developing, managing, and supporting the University’s IT infrastructure, centralised systems, and administrative applications. Its scope covers finance, human resources, procurement, campus management, admissions, student registration and records, and a wide range of student services. In addition, the office operates and maintains IT services and facilities, while also championing the effective use of technology to enhance learning, research, and administrative activities across the University.
Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join us. The role will be responsible for dashboards administration and development. This role requires a strong technical background, an analytical mindset, and a proactive attitude toward learning, leveraging, and supporting the latest technologies.
Job Details:
- Assist the Manager in managing and participating data warehousing and data analytic project initiatives, including but not limited to data schema design, extract/transform/load (ETL) design, data presentation and visualisation.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Work with IT, user department and product owner to build and manage a wide variety of data sets.
- Help planning and executing the development of analytical/machine learning solutions from initial design to model development, model validation, implementation, prototyping and testing.
- Perform other duties as required by the management to support departmental needs.
- Experience in analysing business / data requirements, data gathering, cleansing & preparation.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Strong data analytical skill and data sense.
- Familiarity with tools, e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense, Power BI, Informatica, Alteryx, and IBM DataStage.
- Self-directed with high motivation and demonstrated capability to manage time & projects and to innovate and explore new techniques.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Degree holder in Computer Science or Business Administration or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in relevant business intelligence and data analytics, experience in higher education is preferred.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment of Analyst Programmer.
- Experience in higher education preferred, but not a strict requirement.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
