Role Introduction
Reports To: Head of Cathay Holidays
This role is part of our Customer Relationship & Retail Department to contribute towards the building of Cathay’s premium lifestyle brand, and support Cathay’s future development through offering robust and diversified revenue streams.
As a Digital Transformation Manager, Holidays, you will lead the design and development of a next-generation holidays booking platform for Cathay Holidays. The role involves driving the end-to-end delivery of the project, collaborating with various teams, managing the project budget, and ensuring alignment among business, product, and technical teams. The goal is to create an innovative e-commerce platform that enhances the booking experience and achieves business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Project management and leadership
- On behalf of the Holidays team, act as the business owner to drive design and development a next-generation holidays booking platform (Holidays 3.0), to inspire members and customers to book with Cathay Holidays and elevate the premium lifestyle brand of Cathay
- Partner with Digital Experience, and Information Technology to design and deliver the digital platform, enabling customers to purchase Holidays products (e.g packages, hotels, car rental, and other experiences), seamlessly using cash/miles, across digital devices
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of the transformation project, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timeline, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality
- Prepare robust business case, presentation materials as needed, and regularly report to relevant stakeholders and committees (such as Investment committee, project steering committee), and leadership team about project progress, challenges, and successes
- Act as the primary liaison between business, product, and technical teams to ensure alignment and seamless collaboration.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies and challenges, proactively implementing mitigation strategies
Next generation e-commerce platform development and execution
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to ensure the platform remains innovative and competitive
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, sales, IT, and third-party vendors, to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into the project.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the new e-commerce channel
- Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure a smooth transition for teams impacted by the project.
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation projects, ideally in Holidays/ Travel Agency platforms
- Strong skills with experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning
- Good understanding of e-commerce best practices, digital marketing, and customer experience design
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with technical, product, and business teams
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and delivering measurable business outcomes
- A minimum of 8 years' relevant work experience in travel, airlines, hotel, and hospitality industry preferred. OTA experience a plus
- Experience in running digital experience project using agile approach
- Very skillful in managing external and internal stakeholders to prioritize conflicting demands and preferences
- Knowledge of airline booking systems, CRM platforms, or inventory management tools
