The Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning is responsible for the promotion of the quality and scholarship of teaching and learning within the University and beyond. The Centre is now looking for competent and devoted team members who can assist in implementing various initiatives utilising educational technology initiatives.
Educational Technology Manager / Senior Educational Technologist (25260093)
The Educational Technology Manager / Senior Educational Technologist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the teaching and learning experience at Hong Kong Baptist University through the effective integration of technology. This position involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement innovative technological solutions that support educational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Team Building: Create a cohesive and motivated EdTech Team by fostering members to collaborate and perform;
- Technology Integration: Work with faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum, ensuring it enhances learning outcomes;
- Training and Support: Provide training and ongoing support to faculty and staff on the use of educational technologies, including learning management systems (LMS), multimedia tools, online collaboration platforms, and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) agents;
- Resource Development: Create and maintain instructional materials, guides, and resources to support the use of educational technologies;
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to the implementation of new technologies and digital tools for teaching and learning;
- Research and Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in educational technology. Evaluate and recommend new tools and platforms that align with the university's strategic goals; and
- Collaboration: Work closely with academic departments, administrative offices and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and support of digital learning initiatives.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred;
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in educational technology or a related field, preferably in a higher education setting;
- Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard Learn, Instructure Canvas, Moodle);
- Experience in managing and supporting the use of GenAI and learning analytics;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines; and
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with instructional design and curriculum development;
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices; and
- Familiarity with data analytics and assessment tools.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one to two year(s). Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Candidates with less experience will be offered the position of Senior Educational Technologist.
