Job Purpose:

To lead and oversee the commercial success, strategic development, and operational execution of the global bancassurance partnership between Bupa Global and [Standard Chartered Bank].

The role will be responsible for delivering strategic growth, sales governance and customer outcomes across all live and emerging partnership markets - beginning with a focus on Hong Kong and Singapore, before accelerating into new growth markets and priority regions.

This leadership position will manage a cross-functional team, ensuring seamless delivery of Bupa Global's premium international medical insurance proposition and wider health services and innovations, to [Standard Chartered]'s high net worth and priority clients.

This role is critical to Bupa Global's ambition to expand and evolve its presence in international health through pioneering, high-impact partnerships.

How you'll help us make health happen:

  • Own and manage the end-to-end performance of the Bupa Global and [Standard Chartered] bancassurance partnership across all territories.
  • Develop and execute the multi-country partnership strategy, aligning with both Bupa Global's commercial goals, Standard Chartered's client expectations and emerging global bancassurance trend demands.
  • Drive sales outcomes, compliance and customer experience through strong leadership of in-person and remote sales, sales support and specialist roles
  • Work closely with local and global stakeholders across distribution, marketing, operations, underwriting and compliance - within both Bupa and [Standard Chartered] to enable success in each launch market.
  • Ensure all regulatory and licensing requirements are met for each region and that the team remains compliant with all local financial services standards.
  • Regularly liaise with Bupa leadership, as well as [Standard Chartered] senior and relationship management teams, to review performance, identify new opportunities, and effectively manage escalation issues.
  • Design and track performance KPIs and sales governance processes, including reporting, pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Support business case development and expansion planning for entering new markets with Standard Chartered.
  • Oversee learning, training, accreditation and onboarding for new team members in collaboration with HR and Compliance as well as working with the Director of Commercial Distribution and Client Management to continually develop and define the successful people model that underpins the partnership growth.
  • Contribute towards the shape and delivery of successful launch and client engagement events, leveraging these to drive the continued growth of the partnership.
  • Act as a cultural and operational ambassador of Bupa Global in all Standard Chartered partnership activities.

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:

  • A proven track record of leadership in managing international or multi-market distribution partnerships, preferably in financial services, health insurance, health intermediation, and/or regulated assurance sectors.
  • Extensive experience working in or with bancassurance models, preferably at a senior commercial or partnership management level.
  • Deep understanding of high-net-worth customer segments and their needs, ideally with prior experience in private banking or international insurance.
  • Experience launching or scaling complex commercial partnerships across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrable experience leading high-performing, cross-functional teams in customer-facing and operational roles.
  • Successfully delivering against bold revenue ambitions, demonstrating a continuing drive for increased customer growth
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience interacting at senior management level
  • Ability to influence and collaborate to drive growth across global and matrixed environments
