We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join Ageas Asia as IT Portfolio Manager, based in our Hong Kong Regional Office. The job holder will be reporting hierarchically to the Director, IT & Security, Asia.
In this role you’re expected to:
This senior role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the organization’s IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, and maximizing value delivery. It requires strong expertise in portfolio governance, financial management, demand shaping, change management, and vendor relationship management. The incumbent will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT and digital transformation projects.
IT Portfolio Management
- Establish and maintain portfolio management frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Lead planning cycles to ensure strategic alignment, prioritization, and resource allocation.
- Manage interdependencies and risks across the portfolio, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
- Develop detailed project plans with timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Secure and clarify technical resource roles across teams.
Demand Management
- Translate business needs into a pipeline of IT/Digital initiatives.
- Manage a structured demand intake process, from assessment to business case development.
- Facilitate prioritization to align with strategy, resources, and budget. Serve as liaison between business and IT to ensure

- Identify opportunities to streamline demand and leverage existing technologies.
Change Management
- Assess impact of changes across departments and roles to reduce resistance.
- Document risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support change through communication planning and stakeholder coordination.
- Embed changes into culture and processes.
- Collect feedback and data for continuous improvement.
Financial Management
- Oversee IT portfolio budget, including forecasting and expenditure tracking.
- Ensure ROI and business value delivery; identify cost-saving opportunities.
Vendor Management
- Develop and execute IT vendor strategies aligned with portfolio goals.
- Manage relationships with key IT vendors and service partners.
- Negotiate contracts and monitor performance against SLAs.
- Mitigate vendor-related risks and explore opportunities for consolidation and innovation.
As a successful candidate you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Academic Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT Portfolio Management, Program Management, or Senior Project Management role.
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PfMP, or ITIL are highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Requirement
- Proven experience establishing and maturing IT portfolio management processes and governance frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience in demand management, from intake to prioritization and resource allocation.
- Strong track record in IT vendor management, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and relationship building for strategic partnerships.
- Strong financial experience in budget management, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI calculation for IT investments.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential impact on business.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
