Learning Support / Student Support Teacher
Major Responsibilities:
Assess the learning and emotional needs of pupils by observing and consulting with relevant bodies to advise on the best approaches and provisions to support the target pupils’s learning and development.
Deliver effective sessions for either individuals or small groups of pupils within, or outside the class
Develop Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) for pupils when necessary
Prepare lessons and specific teaching materials
Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils
Collaborate with the classroom teachers and student support team to define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum
Collaborate with school staff and parents to determine appropriate actions that will benefit the identified children.
Carry out administrative tasks, including updating and maintaining records of pupils’ progress
Carry out other school duties

Requirements and Qualifications:
With Registered Teacher Certification
Bachelor's Degree in Education / PGCE/ PGDE (or above) in Special Education Needs, Psychology, EAL or any related discipline
Communicate with the teaching teams in order to be proactive
Build good relationships with pupils and their families
Show initiative and problem-solving skills
Use observant and responsive approach
Responsible for tracking data related to specific ILP goals
Be patience, understanding and empathy with pupils and parents
Have a good sense of humour
