The Center for Education Innovation (CEI) at HKUST is seeking a passionate and experienced Part-time staff to teach PDEV6800Z – Introduction to Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, a foundational course for all full-time research postgraduate (RPg) students at the University. PDEV6800Z aims to equip RPg students with the essential pedagogical knowledge and skills for their teaching assistant duties. The course is delivered in an innovative gamified, flipped classroom format
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach four large-class sections (approximately 80 students per section) of PDEV6800Z in Fall 2025/26.
- Facilitate active, engaging face-to-face sessions aligned with the course’s flipped and gamified design.
- Guide postgraduate students in developing teaching competencies such as lesson planning, active learning design, facilitation skills, and giving feedback.
- Evaluate students’ teaching demonstrations and lesson plans based on established rubrics.
- Provide constructive feedback to support students’ professional development as future educators.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or above in education or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in teaching similar higher education pedagogy or GTA training courses.
- Strong familiarity with current teaching and learning theories, active learning, assessment practices, and instructional design.
- Experience working with postgraduate students or early-career educators is highly desirable.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills; able to engage large groups in participatory learning.
- A strong commitment to inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices and innovation in pedagogy.
This is a part-time appointment for the Fall 2025/26 term. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits will be provided where applicable.
