UNIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICE
The University Engagement Office (UEO) is established with the primary objective of enhancing the University's engagement with stakeholders of the community and strengthening its brand. The office takes charge of engaging both internal and external stakeholders, managing university-wide events and marketing initiatives, and handling mainland affairs.
The UEO is now inviting applications for the following position:
Senior Manager (25260129)
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation, execution, and review of the University’s comprehensive strategies and initiatives for engagement, communication, marketing, and branding;
- Plan, coordinate, and execute University-wide marketing and engagement campaigns, events, activities, and programmes;
- Ensure effective and precise communication of the University’s achievements, developments, and initiatives through various media platforms and promotional channels;
- Connect and collaborate closely with internal Faculties/Departments/Offices to stay informed of the University’s latest news and developments for the development of marketing and engagement initiatives;
- Explore and foster academic exchanges and collaborations with counterparts in Mainland China, including government departments, universities, and industries;
- Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and review of agreements between the University and mainland partner institutions;
- Support the supervision of the Office’s operations as well as those of HKBU’s branch offices in Mainland China;
- Perform any other duties as assigned; and
- Occasional travel to Mainland China may be required.
Requirements:
- A recognised master's degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related discipline;
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role; experience in the tertiary education sector is preferred;
- A profound understanding of both Hong Kong and Mainland China contexts;
- Established networks and connections with mainland government bodies, industries, universities, and media;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational, management, leadership, and strategic planning skills;
- A confident and forward-thinking leader with the ability to build strong, motivated teams;
- Able to multitask effectively, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines; and
- Proficient computer skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
