About APAC Business
Fidelity manages total asset of US$133.3 billion (as at 2024/12/31) on behalf of clients in the Asia Pacific region, gathered through our Intermediary, Institutional, Defined Contribution and Personal Investing channels. The region employs over 2000 staff with operations in multiple countries/jurisdictions: Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore and China. The regional management hub is located in Hong Kong.
About your role
The Strategic Client Director is responsible for leading APAC ex Japan strategic client acquisition and development strategy. This role focuses on identifying and nurturing high-value client relationships, ensuring the firm's growth objectives are met through strategic partnerships and innovative client engagement approaches.
Strategic Client Development:
Collaborate with senior management to formulate and execute strategic initiatives that align with the firm’s overall objectives.
Managing stakeholders from across Fidelity is a key component of this role as well as demonstrating a broad knowledge of client needs & trends pertaining to key wealth and Institutional clients.
Drive the roll out of the SCP across the strategic client base in Asia. Design and implement standardised processes (consistent client coverage models, segmentation models, standard framework) and the associated metrics required to identify performance issues/efficiency opportunities.
Lead and engage strong business relationships with Asia based global and local private banks and private wealth channels, in order to build a strong pipeline across the region.
Client Acquisition and Growth:
Develop and support sales team with the strategic plans to acquire new clients and expand existing client relationship
Lead and engage strong business relationships with Asia based global and local wealth and institutional, in order to build a strong pipeline across the region.
Identify and target key market segments and potential clients to drive business growth
Responsible for creating proposals for strategic partnerships, developing tailored solutions and designing modules for key capabilities.
Analyse market trends and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
Global and Regional Coordination
Systematic coordination of key accounts across global and regional teams.
Conduct periodic strategic client reviews
Promote seamless collaboration across departments and assign dedicated account Pursue and solidify key strategic partnerships to enhance long-term collaboration.
Drive meaningful senior-level interactions to deepen client connectivity
Data-driven insights:
Leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics platforms to track the success of strategic clients
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
Ensure transparency and accountability in strategic account reporting and tracking.
About you
Proven success in growing AUM and managing large institutional accounts; strong sales knowledge across diverse client segments
Experience covering different asset classes is required
Deep understanding of APAC financial markets, regulatory frameworks, and cultural nuances
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. salesforce) and digital engagement platforms
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong strategic client relationships as well as the fund selection gatekeepers.
Understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and client needs in the region.
Familiarity with various asset classes and investment strategies.
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
