Business Management Manager
This Group-level role, reporting to COO, provides business management and regulatory compliance advisory to ensure the business teams operate in strict adherence to internal policy standards and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on international container leasing & selling businesses involving credit data analysis, existing & potential customers creditworthiness assessment, and credit risk exposure management to support the overall financial objectives.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive credit risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and controls, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough credit evaluations of potential and existing clients, utilizing financial statements, credit reports, market analysis, and industry specific data. Exercise sound credit judgment and provide clear credit recommendations.
Collect and analyze market information to identify emerging credit risks and trends within the shipping, liner, and container leasing sectors.
Monitor the implementation of credit risk policies and procedures across all relevant business units, ensuring consistent application and adherence.
Provide expert advice and guidance to business teams on credit risk mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with the Group's risk appetite and business objectives.
Act as the central point of contact for risk-related matters, collaborate with various business teams to implement effective risk governance and minimize the potential risks for the Group.
Stay abreast of relevant regulatory requirements and industry’s best practices related to credit risk management, ensuring the Group's compliance.
Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc reports on credit risk exposure, performance, and emerging risks to senior management, highlighting potential areas of concern and recommending appropriate action.
Stay alert to and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements relating to market risk management and internal model approach to calculate market risk, taking ownership and communicating to relevant stakeholders, reporting any substantial change in financial status & management of our clients which might exert potential credit risks to our Group promptly.
FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCES
Proven experience in the container, shipping liners, leasing or depots industries, with a strong understanding of the financial dynamics within these sectors.
Minimum 5 years of experience in banking, financial or accounting services, with experience in focus on financial analysis of leasing services, accounting and finance, risk management, financial control is preferred.
Exceptional analytical, problem solving and reporting skills, with ability to critically evaluate information from multiple sources and reconcile conflicting data.
Experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring credit risk policies and procedures.
COMPETENCY & QUALIFICAITON
CFA, CPA are highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in business, legal, finance, accounting, or risk management is required.
Fluent written and verbal English and Cantonese language skills are essential. Communicative level of mandarin is also required.
Willingness for business travel is required.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced & dynamic working environment.
