Campus Development and Management Office - Assistant Manager (Campus Development)

- lead and manage technicians to perform daily repair and maintenance duties efficiently, including sourcing materials, equipment, inventory control and work order management;
- take responsibility for the efficient operation, maintenance, renewal programme and statutory compliance works for all physical plant and infrastructure installations;
- manage the planning, design and implementation of alteration, addition, fitting-out, improvement, repair and planned maintenance works for University premises;
- prepare quotation request, or tender and procurement documents for maintenance services and project works, and carry out project administration and management duties;
- propose and review policies, guidelines and procedures regarding the operations and services;
- conduct inspections and reviews for safety, productivity improvement and energy saving;
- act as leading officer in the Emergency Response Team during adverse weather conditions as and when required; and
- liaise with users and other units in the Campus Development Management Office to deliver services efficiently and achieve the University’s goal.
Applicants Should
- possess a recognised bachelor’s degree in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline;
- preferably be a corporate member of related professional bodies such as HKIE, RPE, CIBSE etc.;
- possess appropriate registrations and licenses in building services;
- have a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience with at least 5 years of experience at a similar seniority level, or a senior technical practitioner with 20 years of maintenance experience;
- have hands-on experience in managing technical teams and maintaining building services installations in commercial enterprises or tertiary education institutions;
- have proficient skills in BMS, AutoCAD and BIM will be advantageous;
- have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
- have strong communication skills and good problem-solving ability;
- demonstrate analytical and critical thinking with sound judgement; and
- be capable of working independently.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours. Work experience in the higher education sector will be an advantage.
