About the Role
The role is responsible for conducting investigation of fraud and misconduct encountered by AIA Hong Kong and Macau. The person shall add value to the management by providing appropriate business-oriented recommendations. He/she is also responsible for the delivery of the overall work plan for investigations and presenting the findings as well as recommendations to relevant committees.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Independently plan and execute investigations (received from various sources including but not limited to whistleblowing channel, internal detection, customer complaints and referrals from authorities) within AIA Hong Kong and Macau and evaluate the adequacy of established controls.
- Produce reports on investigation findings to the management, authorities or other entities as necessary.
- For issues noted during investigation, identify root cause and provide recommendations to the management for resolution.
- Enhance the team’s investigation output quality by ensuring that working papers, reports and other deliverables meet internal standards, are of high quality and that investigations are completed in a timely manner.
- Evaluate information or evidence compiled for civil or criminal cases and regulatory investigations and support any related legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to resolve issues stemmed from investigations and regulatory enquiries.
- Advocate and influence the highest standards of ethics, discipline, and professionalism within the organisation.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned to meet operational and/or other requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- A degree in Law, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or other relevant academic background.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in investigations, audit or discovery.
- Proficient in English and Chinese, verbally and in writing, with the ability to present investigation findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Prior experience in white-collar, financial crime, bribery, sanctions, regulatory or forensic investigations in financial institutions or professional service firms is highly preferred.
- Professional qualification in accounting is considered favourably.
- Strong understanding of insurance and related legislative/regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Knowledge on data analytics and exposure in system development are an advantage.
- The maturity and authority necessary to deal with agents, senior management and sensitive issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Self-confident, self-motivated and good interpersonal skills.
