We are seeking a part-time, temporary Educational Assistant, Learning Diversity (Parent Funded), to work with us at Bradbury School for up to 17.5 hours per week starting in August 2025. This will be a 1 to 1 student support role with a Year 5 child.
Responsibilities
- To assist in the education and supervision of an individual student within an inclusive learning environment
- To support the student to maximise learning under the guidance of the Learning Diversity Team, an ESF Educational Psychologist and class teachers
Support for Learning and Teaching:
- To assist with the educational, social, and emotional development of the student
- To work collaboratively with the Learning Diversity Team and class teachers in the implementation of individualised support for learning, behaviour and interventions
- To closely liaise with Learning Diversity and class teachers to communicate the student’s responses to various tasks or other data as may be requested
- To plan and create alternative resources for the student where appropriate
- To provide integration support for the student outside of the classroom, including access to field trips, educational visits, whole- school activities, and unstructured break times
Bradbury School Standards:
- To implement positive behaviour support in alignment with Bradbury School’s ‘Expectation of Behaviour Policy’
- To build trust and rapport by showing care for the student as an individual
- To model professionalism in terms of confidentiality, dress, punctuality, and attendance
- To attend team meetings or parent meetings as requested
- To prepare communications for parents with updates on behaviour and learning which will be communicated through the Learning Diversity Team
Please note that the position will be temporary part-time with the possibility of hours being reduced as the student fosters independence in 2025-2026.
Requirements
- Experience working with primary school-aged children is preferred
- Experience working with children with special needs preferred
- A caring and committed approach to supporting students is essential
- Willingness and eagerness to learn and implement leading practice
- Patience, dependability and professionalism
- Ability to collaborate well with others
- Highly proficient in spoken English
