Entry Requirements:
Applicants should:
(a) (i) have Level 2 or equivalent (Note 1) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; or
(ii) have Level 2 (Note 3) / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent;

(b) meet the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note 3) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent;

(c) speak fluent Cantonese and be able to read and write fluent Chinese and English; and

(d) have a good knowledge of the use of general computer software (including Microsoft Word and Excel), Chinese and English word processing.

Note:
(1) “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.

(2)The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.

(3)‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

Duties:
(a) To assist in the implementation of community involvement projects and activities, and related work for Committees;
(b) To assist in the formation and development of Owners’ Corporations (OCs) and other related matters;
(c) To attend meetings of OCs and Owners’ Committees;
(d) To visit and liaise with OCs, Owners’ Committees and buildings, prepare reports and input data;
(e) To perform clerical and secretarial duties and assist in meetings;
(f) To assist in the supervision of activities and management of Community Centres and Community Halls (e.g. handling applications for use of Community Centers/ Community Halls, answering enquiries and complaints, data entry etc.); and
(g) To handle any other duties as assigned.

Terms of Appointment:
(a) Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for a period of 12 months.
(b) Further renewal of contract will be subject to satisfactory performance and operational needs.
(c) Candidates are required to perform outdoor duties and work outside normal office hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
(d) Candidates are required to work less than 17 hours per week.

General Notes:
(a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.

In these circumstances, only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend recruitment examination and/or interview.
(f) It is Government policy to place people with a disability in appropriate jobs wherever possible. If a disabled candidate meets the entry requirements, he/she will be invited to attend the selection interview/written examination without being subject to any further shortlisting criteria. Applicants who have declared disabilities found suitable for appointment may be given an appropriate degree of preference over other applicants whose suitability for appointment is considered comparable to that of the former. (g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the below contact address.

(a) Applicants must apply online through the G.F. 340 Online Application System of the Civil Service Bureau (https://www.csb.gov.hk); and then submit soft copies of the qualification documents by email to [email protected] on or before 5pm, 21 September 2025. Qualification documents include certificates showing the results achieved in Chinese and English languages, diplomas / certificates, official transcripts of studies and other supporting documents mentioned in the entry requirements.

Please clearly specify the email subject as “Application for Part-time Community Organizer (Southern District)” and the online application number. Please also specify the online application number on every page of the soft copies of the relevant documents. If applicants fail to provide the supporting documents as requested, their applications will not be considered.

(b) Applications which are incomplete or submitted in person, by post, by fax or by e-mail will not be accepted.

(c) Applicants should provide an accurate email address in the applications. Applicants who are invited for the selection interview will normally receive an email within 8 weeks from the closing date for application.

To avoid missing any invitation or notification, applicants are responsible for:

(ii) checking each incoming mailbox (including the spam folder) regularly.

Applicants will be required to bring with the following documents for interview:-
(i) Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card (original copy) ;
(ii) Diplomas / certificates, official transcripts of studies and other qualification documents (original copy);
(iii) Records of service from previous and existing employers (original copy and copies); and
(iv) A color photo.

(d) Those who are not invited for the selection interview may assume that their applications are unsuccessful. The period of notification for the selection interview may be longer in exceptional circumstances, e.g. when a large number of applications are received or when there are other complications.
