Description
The Shipping Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of domestic and international shipments. He is responsible for packaging, labelling, and invoicing outgoing orders while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. The role includes coordinating with carriers and customs, utilizing shipping software from major providers, and managing returns from both customers and suppliers. The Shipping Assistant also supports inventory control by organizing storage areas, handling bulk materials, and assisting with the movement of goods for quality inspection. A strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards is essential to succeed in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately package, label, and invoice domestic and international shipments
- Provide logistics support for carrier coordination and customs documentation
- Utilize shipping software from major carriers for outbound shipments
- Receive, process, and document customer RMAs/returns and supplier returns.
- Accurately document all outgoing/incoming shipments and maintain compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.
- Stack, wrap, and store large bulk items and pallets appropriately
- Assist with moving inventory and materials to quality control/inspection
- Organize and maintain inventory storage locations for optimal efficiency
- Ensure compliance with shipping standards and safety procedures
Requirements
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Minimum 1 year experience in international and/or domestic shipping
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and inventory management software
- Hands-on experience with major carrier platforms such as FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, and My DHL Express
- Knowledge of Bill of Lading (BOL), Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI), LTL (Less Than Truckload), and third-party shipping procedures
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong problem-solving skills
