Temporary Research Assistant II (Promotion of Putonghua Project) in Oriental Studies Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law
Duties: The appointee will assist the Programme Director in the coordination and administration of the “Promotion of Putonghua - In Search of Ancient Moon: Mapping Chinese Classical Poetry Through Recitation and Filmmaking” project. The appointee will provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and coordinating logistics for events. The main duties of the appointee include coordinating with the College Assistant Lecturer to organise and facilitate language workshops, cultural events, and other promotional activities.
Requirements: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese, Education or related disciplines, preferably a Master’s degree. They should have strong written and verbal communication skills in Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua) and English as well as good interpersonal and organisational skills. They should be familiar with MS Office and quantitative research methods and be able to work both independently and with a project team. Candidates with knowledge of language teaching methodologies and experience in curriculum development and teaching young students are preferred.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will be on temporary basis with expected end date of 31 August 2026.
