A) Operating Effectiveness • Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of transaction processing in responsible areas • Responsible for ensuring the smoothness and timeliness of price index monitoring for Commodities/ Front to Back L/C related products • Responsible for ensure the smoothness of Front to Back L/C handling as stated in related guidelines and procedures • Operate and monitor application systems to ensure their effectiveness in transaction processing and settlement • Coordinate with business units to explore collaboration and supports required. B) Internal Control Monitoring • Responsible for upholding policies relating to operational risks and internal control • Establish operational risk profile and make self-assessment on general controls • Handle customers' complaints and incidents. Investigate into the dispute cases, and provide suggestion and resolution to solve them • Review and update operation procedure manuals • Fulfill and follow Audit and legislative requirements C) Staff Management • Setup a clear team structure supporting the Trade Finance business including (1) Import Trade, (2) Export Trade, (3) Stand-alone Financing and (4) Trade Finance Operations Support • Develop a clear succession plan for each operation team and a career path for every talent staff • Organize and tailor-make job specific training for team members D) Market Awareness and products coverage • Understand the customer need and market trend, in order to provide a best quality of Trade service • Liaise with WBG Transaction Banking in the product development trend of Trade Finance areas on both product and operation procedures level in order to mitigate the associated risk factor when offering such product type to customers. • Understand the regulatory requirement and the relevant update, implement and ensure compliance to all regulations • Maintain good connection with the main business contacts, and get updated information about the market situation E) Others • Design and analyze infrastructures to map out a more cost / resource-efficient strategy. • Drive Change and Lean Process in daily operation and support for automation projects. • Provide quality services to client/ front office. Ensure all services delivered are met with the requirements and meet the agreed SLA with satisfactory result • Maintain effective control on all areas related to the team so as to protect the Bank's interest and avoid any operational risks • Drive the operations process review, implement the necessary process revamp and effective AML/CTF measures in the provision of trade finance products and services to further strengthen the operation control and efficiency • Ensure all available resources are evenly distributed and fully utilized so as to maximize the productivity of the Team • Ensure all procedures, regulatory and compliance requirements are strictly followed, and to adopt changes whenever necessary • Provide regional support to overseas office for their business requirements. • Drive and lead projects initiate by the Team to ensure timely implementation • Participate in other projects that are related to the Team • Any other ad-hoc task assigned by supervisorRequirements:
Degree holder in Business Administration or related disciplines is preferred;
Minimum 20 years’ experience in trade finance operations of which 10 years in managerial level, with previous experience of leading a sizable team is highly preferred;
Strong and professional knowledge in trade products with experience in project management and handling cross border trade, Trade Credit Insurance related products & FI products
Solid and practical trade finance operational experience with ability to reinforce update market developments / knowledge and industry best practices from trade finance operational perspective
Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
Good presentation and communications skills
Proficient in MS Office;
Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
