We are looking for an Administrative Assistant II / Executive Officer to join Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HKIHSS)
The Role
The appointee will provide administrative and executive support on project management and general office administration, developing and implementing strategies for promotion of the Institute and its research and teaching activities. He/She will handle a wide range of responsibilities, including finance and human resources matters; website development; committee support; coordination of research events and activities, and other duties as assigned. Working outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a good university degree, with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience in higher education sector or a related field. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua); proficiency in IT; strong organisational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team; the capability to multitask under pressure with attention to detail; and a strong initiative with a positive attitude. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
