The Office of Vice President for Research and Development (VPRDO) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager. This is a role with wide exposure to various aspects of HKUST’s research activities. We are seeking a motivated individual who has the passion to advance HKUST’s research and increase HKUST’s research impacts, contributing to Hong Kong’s innovation and technology development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a valued member of VPRDO, the Assistant Manager will be involved in:
- Meeting support: planning, coordination, and meeting documents preparation of committee and other key meetings related to research.
- Managing research infrastructure: handling the process of establishment and review of HKUST research units, and maintaining comprehensive records.
- Research collaboration support: reviewing collaboration agreements, organizing related activities.
- Policy and process: supporting development and review of research related policies and process and compliance monitoring.
- Communication: Advising University members on matters related to research policy, infrastructure and collaboration, develop and disseminate related communications.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate and Collaborate with various university departments to deliver the above responsibilities.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisors, contributing to the office’s mission.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, science and technology or related disciplines. Candidates with a master’s degree will be a plus;
- At least 5 years of relevant experience;
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; and
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
