Assistant Blended Learning Technical Manager / Senior Blended Learning Technical Officer (24250148)
The Education Technologist will be responsible for assisting the University in converting face-to-face courses into blended learning formats. The appointee will support teachers in creating online learning activities on learning platforms such as Moodle or related LMS, facilitate the production of video content using Panopto, and develop course learning and assessment materials.
Responsibilities:
Blended Learning Development
- Convert traditional face-to-face courses into blended learning formats;
- Design and develop online learning activities and resources on LMS platforms like Moodle;
Video Production Support
- Provide technical support and training for the use of Panopto for video production;
- Assist in the creation and editing of educational videos to enhance online learning experiences;
Course Material Development
- Develop and enhance course learning materials and assessments for blended learning environments;
- Ensure that all materials are pedagogically sound and aligned with course objectives;
Technical and User Support
- Offer technical support to teachers and students in using LMS and other e-learning tools; and
- Conduct face-to-face and online training workshops and develop user guides for LMS users.
Requirements:
- A master’s degree in Learning Design, Education Technology, Multimedia/Digital Design, IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in instructional/learning design in an educational institution or the educational technology industry; OR a bachelor’s degree in related disciplines with at least 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Strong technical skills in programming and knowledge in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, RESTful API, CSS, and HTML;
- Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks/libraries such as React.js and Tailwind CSS is essential;
- Knowledge of principles of programming and proficiency in Python and Node.js are preferred;
- Experience in using learning analytics to support learner feedback and intervention;
- Experience in higher education e-learning development and cloud/local AI models is a definite advantage;
- Excellent conceptual skills, strong analytical skills, and comprehensive knowledge of programming principles;
- Self-motivated, have a strong sense of responsibility, able to work independently and in a team under pressure; and
- Good command of written and spoken English. Fluency in Chinese (including Putonghua) would be an asset.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
