We invite now high caliber talent to apply for Category Planning Manager to join our rapidly growing buying team in Hong Kong. This position supports product development and commercialization with a fast-paced successful team.
Responsibilities.
Develop, propose and execute Range strategy and Range plan (define – IMU/margin contribution, number of lines, market focus, sustainability / sustainable material & circularity target and quality targets) for respective product classes
Continuous review of product categories needs; liaise on manager level, and partner with National Buying Teams, Design and Procurement to influence and ensure this is in line with ALDI standards based on sustainability, quality, price and delivery
Plan & execute product level development, adhering to global range architecture objectives and range churn targets
Gather market feedback, regional briefings and implement into the range plan
Research and collect competitor insight / market relevant analysis
Participate in product development process to ensure range plan and key milestones are met
Present the range to all market stakeholders during key milestone meetings
Collaborates effectively with National Buying counterparts to drive harmonisation and global range efficiency
Conduct post-season review / analysis of range performance, sales data and customer feedback to make informed decisions
Understand performance trends within category responsibility to make recommendations on investment & divestment areas
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sustainability team on the development and implementation of Global Sustainability targets and KPI’s
Provide regular updates and report significant market changes to the Director with action plan in a professional and timely manner
Ensures the efficient flow of communication, correspondence and information with internal and external parties on behalf of their areas of responsibility
Ensures adherence to all legal requirements within own area of responsibility
Communicates and models the vision and values of the Company to create proper work environment and sense of teamwork amongst employees
Develop & coach specialists to build up a strong team
Your Profile.
University Degree holder, preferably in related fields, such as retail, fashion or business
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in range planning, category & product management or buying roles, preferably in a managerial position
Solid retail apparel (garment textile) knowledge and experience in analysing performance of merchandise planning, customer purchasing patterns and sales trends
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions
Passion for the retail apparel industry and a keen eye for market trends and consumer behaviour
Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams
Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
Pro-active and commercially focused mindset with ability to make strategic recommendations
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, responsible and a team player in a fast-paced dynamic environment and has passion for continuous learning
Proven record of strong organizational and time-management skills
Proficient in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
