Job Summary
Sha Tin College is seeking to appoint an Educational Assistant in the Chinese Faculty. This role is vital for supporting the delivery of Chinese courses and assisting with various educational support activities. The position requires fluency in both Chinese and English, a deep understanding of Chinese culture, and knowledge of effective educational methodologies for bilingual settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in Classroom Management:
- Provide support in setting up and managing learning environments for Chinese language classes.
- Assist teachers during lessons, helping to manage class dynamics and ensure a conducive learning environment.
Curriculum Support:
- Help in the preparation of teaching materials that are culturally appropriate and linguistically accurate.
- Aid in the development and implementation of curriculum activities that promote the understanding of Chinese language and culture.
Student Support:
- Offer linguistic assistance to students struggling with Chinese language concepts.
- Provide additional support to students through tutoring sessions that focuse on Chinese language and culture.
Job Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in an education-related field is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
Experience: Experience in the education-related field would be beneficial.
Skills:
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in educational technology and digital tools used in classrooms.
This is a term-time employment where staff will take leave without pay during the school summer holidays. Applicants must possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
