WWF-HK is seeking an Event Officer in our Corporate Partnership Team. This position reports to Manager, Event and Community Relations and will be support the event fundraising team in planning and organizing WWF-HK community engagements which include Walk for Nature, Big Bird Race, Earth Hour, Flag Day, and other jointly organized community activities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting and reviewing events, including performing competitive analysis of the market. Support the exploration of opportunities for new fundraising events and partnerships to enhance the reach of WWF’s existing initiatives.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising events for donors or the general public, ensuring smooth management and timely delivery within budget.
- Assist in identifying market segmentation, unique propositions, and partnership opportunities for WWF community events. Provide input for event decks and sponsor proposals.
- Coordinate event logistics, including vendor management, budget tracking, and on-site operations under the supervision of senior staff.
- Work with the Communication team to assist in the development of marketing and customer journey plans, event visuals, and collaterals. Provide support for implementing marketing and production plans.
- Liaise with relevant government departments regarding permits and venue arrangements as directed by senior staff.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in event management to provide suggestions for process improvements.
- Assist in the preparation and launch of website, social media, and booking services for events, and support marketing campaign efforts.
- Help organize manpower and volunteers for events, including coordination with One Planet Youth and other organizational support teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams, such as individual giving, supporter care, corporate partnerships, and IT support, to ensure smooth tracking of bookings, customer engagement, and marketing outcomes.
- Handle event-related customer services, inquiries, and social media feedback.
- Assist in preparing event accounts, feedback reports, and reviews.
- Provide necessary assistance to other Centre events teams as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or above with event management, marketing, communications or business studies.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in computer skills with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and spoken Chinese and English required.
- Passionate about nature and environmental conservation and issues.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing scheduled tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, approachable, comfortable engaging with the public.
- A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and negotiations skills.
- Open-minded personality
- Experience in charitable fundraising, donor cultivation, or membership management for international NGOs is a definite advantage.
