Freelance SEO Specialist (Remote)
Position Overview
As our digital team continues to grow, we are looking for a Freelance SEO Specialist to support operations across key SEO areas. The ideal candidate should be experienced in both strategic and hands-on SEO, capable of executing multilingual SEO tasks across global and regional accounts. Experience in SEM or paid media is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
SEO Strategic Planning & Research
Conduct keyword research, search intent mapping, and keyword clustering aligned with local/regional objectives.
Perform competitive landscape and market analysis to inform SEO strategy and identify opportunities.
Provide SEO input during campaign or website planning phases to shape structure and content strategy.
On-Page SEO
Optimize metadata (titles, descriptions), headings, internal linking, URL structures, and content hierarchy.
Execute multilingual on-page optimization tasks based on keyword mapping and localization requirements.
Implement SEO best practices across web and landing pages using various CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, AEM, Drupal).
Technical SEO
Conduct site audits using tools like Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or Ahrefs to identify crawlability, indexation, and technical issues.
Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to site speed, mobile usability, redirects, broken links, and canonicalization.
Support implementation and validation of structured data (schema markup) and assist in page performance tracking via Google Search Console.
SEO Copywriting
Support topic ideation based on SEO trends, user behavior, and seasonal opportunities.
Provide keyword-rich content outlines and guidelines for writers, ensuring alignment with SEO and brand tone.
Draft or edit short-form and long-form content (e.g., blog articles, landing pages, product descriptions) with a strong focus on search visibility and relevance.
Reporting & Collaboration
Prepare performance reports and dashboards using Looker Studio, GA4, Search Console, and third-party tools.
Collaborate with internal content, paid media, and development teams to align SEO execution across functions.
Communicate progress, findings, and priorities regularly to the project team lead.
3+ years of hands-on SEO experience and working knowledge of SEM., preferably within an agency, multilingual or global account setting.
Proficient in major SEO tools: Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio.
Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, AEM, Sitecore, etc.) and basic HTML knowledge is a plus.
Solid understanding of SEO best practices across technical, on-page, and content SEO.
Experience with multilingual or regional SEO across APAC or international markets is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
Excellent communication in English (written and spoken); additional language skills (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French) are a bonus.
Availability to work within HK/SG working hours and collaborate via tools like Slack, Trello, and Google Workspace.
