The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is looking for a high-calibre individual to provide secretarial support to the Head of Department as well as general and personnel administrative tasks of the Department. Reporting to the DH, the appointee’s duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing secretarial support to the Head of the Department.
- Providing secretarial/logistics support for the running of departmental meetings. These include arranging meeting schedule and compilation of necessary documents for meetings in a timely manner.
- Handling academic personnel related matters. In particular, to oversee and coordinate faculty recruitment process and provide logistics support to all recruitment related activities with efficiency while ensuring confidentiality of the process is protected.
- Providing administrative support to the DH and the Office Manager in the preparation and coordination of academic/performance review process of the faculty.
- Assisting in the financial payment and reimbursement of general departmental functions, including honorarium payment to departmental seminar speakers.
- Supporting new initiatives, ad-hoc projects and performing other duties as and when required by the supervisors.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant post-qualification working experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector. Associate degree/Higher Diploma or above with at least five years’ relevant post-qualification experience will also be considered.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and flexibly.The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, attentive to details and be able to perform multiple tasks under pressure, and with a pleasant, responsible and proactive personality. The appointee is expected to have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in IT and software applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, is essential. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
