The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools providing quality, holistic education to a multinational student body of approximately 1300 students and 240 faculty and staff. The school is organised into two Streams, German and English leading to qualifications in the German International Abitur and I/GCSE & IBDP respectively. TEACHER - GERMAN INTERNATIONAL STREAM - PRIMARY SCHOOL
(Maternity Cover from October 2025-May 2026)

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is dedicated to enabling each child to achieve the highest possible standards. The successful candidate will be expected to be up to date with current teaching and learning practices with regards to differentiated learning, assessment and reporting. She/he will be a dynamic, open-minded and enthusiastic practitioner who provides learning opportunities for every student commensurate to her/his needs, abilities and stage of development, by teaching a programme that gives each student the opportunity to experience success, and which challenges all students to achieve their full potential.
What is required and what we’re looking for

Teaching qualification (state examination, PGCE or equivalent) in Primary Education

Proven teaching experience in primary desired

Applicants with a successful career with international teaching programs strongly preferred

Native German language skills

Excellent English speaker with sound written and oral communication skills

Culturally sensitive, tolerant and patient

Positive work ethic and proactive

Short-term available candidates with strong teaching experience to come in and take over from day 1 strongly considered
