Temporary College Assistant Lecturer (VCL Project) in Oriental Studies Subject Group in the College of Humanities and Law
Duties: The appointee will assist the Programme Director in the daily operation of the “Vocational Chinese Language (VCL) Programme for Non-Chinese Speaking School Leavers” project. The appointee will liaise between the project team and the project funder - Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR). He/She will also be responsible for developing curriculum and teaching materials, as well as teaching Spoken Cantonese and Written Chinese to Non-Chinese speaking school leavers.
Requirements: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years' work experience in teaching Non-Chinese Speaking students, or a Master degree. They should have good communication skills in Chinese and English as well as good interpersonal and organisational skills. They should be familiar with MS Office, Chinese and English word processing, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively with a project team. Experience in research on Chinese language teaching will be an advantage.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will be on temporary basis with expected end date of 31 August 2026.
