Key Responsibilities:
1. Artwork Handling & Safety:
Safely pack, unpack, crate, and uncrate artworks (paintings, sculptures, installations, etc.) using industry-standard materials and techniques.
- Execute precise installation/deinstallation of artworks in galleries, museums, or client spaces.
- Adhere to conservation protocols for fragile, high-value items.
2. Logistics & Transportation:
- Coordinate local/domestic art transportation, including vehicle loading/unloading and condition reporting.
- Ensure compliance with customs, insurance, and security requirements during transit.
3. Documentation & Communication:
- Prepare detailed condition reports, inventory lists, and installation documentation in English.
- Liaise with curators, registrars, artists, and clients to fulfill display requirements.
4. Storage & Maintenance:
- Organize and maintain art storage facilities, ensuring optimal environmental conditions.
- Perform routine maintenance of handling tools, equipment, and gallery spaces.
Qualifications:
- Education: High Diploma or Associate Degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Prior art-handling experience (internships, galleries, museums, or fine-art logistics) is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand/power tools, rigging, and custom mounting solutions.
- Language Skills:
- Good Communication in English and Cantonese (written and spoken) for clear documentation, reports, and team/client communication.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of art materials, conservation practices, and installation techniques.
- Ability to interpret floor plans, technical drawings, and condition reports.
- Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under tight deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with problem-solving skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $15,000.00 - $25,000.00 per month
