Job Description
Reports To: Group Tax Director, ANZ and Asia
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asia Tax Assistant Manager to oversee tax operations across South East Asia. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience in multinational corporations (MNCs) and possess a deep understanding of regional tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all tax-related activities in South East Asia, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Manage and oversee the quarterly and annual tax provision process under both US GAAP and local South East Asia financial reporting standards, using OneSource software.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position and minimize risks.
- Coordinate with local tax authorities and external advisors to resolve tax issues and disputes.
- Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
- Provide tax advice and support to various business units and departments.
- Conduct tax audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of tax records.
- Collaborate with the global tax team to align regional tax strategies with overall corporate objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CTA) is preferred.
- 5-10 years of relevant tax experience in a multinational corporation (MNC).
- In-depth knowledge of South East Asia tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Information
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing tax operations across multiple countries in South East Asia.
- Tax effect accounting experience preferably with knowledge of US GAAP standards.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing a team.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
