UNIVERSITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICE
The University Engagement Office (UEO) is established with the primary objective of enhancing the University's engagement with stakeholders of the community and strengthening its brand. The Office takes charge of engaging both internal and external stakeholders, managing university-wide events and marketing initiatives, and handling mainland affairs.
The Office is now inviting applications for the following position:
Assistant Manager (25260111)
Responsibilities:
- Explore, develop and facilitate academic exchanges and collaborations with counterparts in mainland China, including government departments, universities and industries;
- Coordinate and execute the University’s engagement initiatives and mainland visitor programmes;
- Develop, execute and promote university-wide events and activities, including symposiums, exhibitions, conferences, seminars and workshops;
- Develop and organise the University’s branding and marketing campaigns via social media and other promotional channels;
- Perform any other tasks as assigned; and
- Occasional travel to mainland China may be required.
Requirements:
- A recognised degree in Communications, Business Administration or a related discipline;
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in mainland affairs, university administrative work, public relations and/or other relevant areas;
- Have a good understanding of mainland China context and culture as well as networks and connections with mainland governments, universities, media and industries;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and proficiency in Putonghua is mandatory;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and writing skills;
- Self-motivated, and able to work independently and as a team;
- Able to manage time and work under tight schedule; and
- Good computer skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit a written test and an interview.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
