Assistant Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement activities, including tender preparation (RFI/RFQ/RFP), vendor negotiations, and contract execution.

• Analyze spend data and compile cost reports to support strategic sourcing and cost control initiatives.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and the Regional Procurement team to align procurement strategies with business needs.

• Maintain and update vendor contracts (TSA/SLA/Service Agreements) in compliance with ZIM’s standards, working closely with HQ legal and insurance teams.

• Monitor vessel operations to ensure adherence to proforma schedules and optimize terminal performance, berthing windows, and container movements.

• Ensure accurate cost setup in ZIM’s systems and follow up on rebate collection and reporting.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure timely follow-up.

• Participate in annual budgeting and planning processes with the Procurement Manager.

• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service quality

Who we are looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the shipping industry or related fields.

• Bachelor’s degree in Shipping, Logistics, or a relevant discipline; other degrees will be considered.

• Strong analytical skills with solid business modeling and numerical acumen.

• Results-driven with a proactive mindset.

• Proficient in English and Mandarin.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.

• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
