Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee underwriting strategies to manage risk exposure effectively, leveraging delegated authority and reinsurance arrangements
- Evaluate and underwrite Property & Casualty (P&C) and Accident & Health (A&H) insurance portfolios to ensure profitability and sustainable growth
- Handle underwriting tasks for general insurance lines, including inward facultative and treaty reinsurance business
- Prepare data and documentation for treaty renewals, including slip wording reviews, term comparisons, and replacement analysis
- Monitor credit control processes to maintain financial discipline and minimize exposure
- Track premium performance against budget targets and analyze exception reports to ensure operational compliance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and distribution partners
- Communicate regularly with brokers to negotiate terms, clarify underwriting requirements, and ensure smooth placement of risks
- Assist the Department Head in enhancing customer experience and optimizing departmental workflows
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII or ANZIIF (Senior Associate)
- At least 8 years of experience in underwriting, reinsurance, and client relationship management
- Strong leadership qualities, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-driven, confident, and results-oriented, with a proactive mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent in Cantonese and English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
- Immediate availability is highly preferred
