The Associate Director will report directly to the Director of Development and Alumni and will play a pivotal role in crafting effective fundraising and alumni engagement strategies. This position involves managing and enhancing diverse engagement and fundraising programs and initiatives to ensure alignment with the University’s goals. The Associate Director will also collaborate with colleagues across various departments to develop compelling proposals and communications that appeal to potential donors. By fostering and maintaining strong relationships with both local and non-local alumni and donors, the Associate Director will be instrumental in securing funding and other forms of support to enhance the University’s sustained growth and development initiatives.
Specific duties include:
- Work closely with other university departments and stakeholders to align fundraising efforts with institutional goals and leverage resources for maximum impact. Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with donors and alumni to encourage ongoing financial and non-financial support.
- Organize innovative engagement and fundraising events and campaigns to encourage donor and alumni participation and contributions.
- Identify and engage with potential supporters, understanding their interests and motivations, and offering tailored donation options that inspire their contributions.
- Create and produce compelling online and offline marketing materials and publications that effectively communicate giving opportunities and inspire support from the community.
- Design and implement impactful social media strategies to promote fundraising initiatives, engage the alumni community, and reach wider audiences, enhancing visibility and participation.
- Analyse fundraising data and engagement metrics regularly to assess the effectiveness of strategies, making data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the Director and Senior Management, contributing to the overall success of the fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives.
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree or higher and at least 18 years of relevant experience in marketing, communication, or fundraising. Experience in higher education institutions is a plus. The ideal candidate should be a proactive team leader with excellent interpersonal skills and strong decision-making abilities. They must have solid management skills, a strong work ethic, and proficiency in IT and database management. Additionally, the candidate should be outgoing, sociable, creative, and detail oriented. A very high level of proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) is required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, housing, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
