This is a varied and engaging role, offering the opportunity to work closely with fee earners and CMD colleagues to deliver high-quality business development support. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the full pitch lifecycle (in both English and Mandarin Chinese), ensuring timely, accurate, and compelling submissions
- Coordinating legal directory and awards submissions, and advising on best practices for showcasing expertise

- Partner with regional and global CMD teams to deliver cross-practice and cross-office pitch initiatives, ensuring alignment and consistency.
- Oversee the end-to-end pitch process, including:
- Conducting targeted research and analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Drafting and tailoring pitch materials in both English and Mandarin Chinese to suit client needs.
- Managing post-pitch follow-up, including gathering client feedback and tracking win/loss outcomes.
- Updating and tracking pitch opportunities in the Firm’s global pitch database system (Foundation) to ensure accurate reporting and visibility.
- Work with CMD colleagues to ensure that Hong Kong and regional marketing materials are regularly reviewed, updated, and aligned with current priorities.
- Support the development and implementation of processes to capture and maintain deal credentials, ensuring they are accurately recorded and integrated into marketing assets and databases.
Market Intelligence and Opportunity Spotting
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market trends, client priorities, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
- Support the growth of existing client relationships by identifying opportunities for deeper engagement and tailored service offerings.
- Help raise the profile of the practice by contributing to the planning and execution of targeted events, conferences, and client seminars.
- Proactively identify and coordinate cross-selling opportunities across practices, sectors, and client teams to support integrated client development efforts.
Client Database and Profile Enhancement
- Maintain and regularly update targeted client lists within the Firm’s CRM system (i.e. InterAction), ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Collaborate closely with the Brand, Communications & Marketing (BCM) team and fee earners to enhance the Firm’s profile through:
- Targeted marketing communications, including deal announcements via the Clifford Chance website, LinkedIn, and WeChat
- Thought leadership publications such as newsletters and client briefings
- Coordinating and preparing submissions for awards and legal directories
Client Event Planning, Coordination and Administrative Support
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of client-facing events, including guest list preparation, presentation materials, speaker arrangements, and logistical planning.
- Provide administrative support throughout the event lifecycle, including tracking RSVPs, sending updates to fee earners and stakeholders, and maintaining accurate attendance records.
- Liaise with the wider Facilities and Business Services teams to ensure seamless delivery of both internal and external events, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and execution.
- Ensure all event-related materials and communications are prepared and distributed in a timely and organised manner.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar business development or marketing role, ideally within a professional services or legal environment. Candidates from other backgrounds who are passionate about transitioning into this field are also encouraged to apply.
- Flexibility around working hours is essential, as the role requires support for urgent or time-sensitive tasks outside of standard office hours.
- Exposure to or experience in managing competitive proposals and pitches, with an understanding of client expectations and market dynamics.
