Job Summary:
Jungle River Cruise - an Attraction located in Adventureland.
Cast off on a thrilling expedition where elephants, gorillas, hippos and maybe even an indigenous tribe await adventures arrival.
Trek to a dusty tropical jungle outpost—laden with hanging cargo nets, wooden crates, timber canoes and rusty anchors—and board a weathered tramp steamer for an exciting adventure along a remote tropical river.
Become our trusty and friendly skipper, bring our Guests to leave civilization behind as we navigate through treacherous waters rarely seen by man.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily operations of Jungle River Cruise
- Presume the role of Skipper to deliver Jungle River Cruise show and operation of the Jungle River Cruise boat
- Deliver an exceptional show performance on the boat trip, skillfully using humor, suspense, and engaging spiels in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English to immerse Guests in the adventure while maintaining vigilance during the boat trip, watching for any issues or unsafe Guest’s behavior. This typically involves starting, stopping, and controlling the boat speed and movement of the JRC boats to ensure safety and Guest experience excellence.
- Performing pre-opening checks and inspections to verify that all the boats and ride area are working properly before allowing Guests to board
- Adhering to all safety regulations, operating procedures, and Company policies. Responding to any boat/ride malfunctions or emergencies, following established protocols/Operations Guidelines to stop the boat/ride and evacuate Guests if necessary. Performing evacuation procedures and emergency handling under undesired situation, handling guest enquiry and concern.
- Assisting Guests with accessibility and special needs, with boarding and disembarking the JRC boats
- Monitoring ride/vehicle capacity and wait time to optimize Guest carry
- Reporting any technical issues, safety concerns, or unusual incidents
- Performing closing checks and inspections to verify that all the boats and locations are secured and report any concerns or discrepancies
Basic Qualifications:
- Fluent in Cantonese, good in English and Putonghua. Knowledge in other language(s) would be an advantage.
- Caring and outgoing with good interpersonal skills. Expressive and proactive.
- Ability to create an immersive and enjoyable experience for Guests
- Able to connect with Guests through conversations, body language, and personalized interactions
- Able to maintain a high energy performance level throughout the boat ride even under harder working environments
- Able to exhibit a strong dedication to the position and can reliably deliver consistent high-quality performance
- Willing to receive feedback, implement improvements, and continuously develop skills as a skipper
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in Guest-facing roles within the entertainment, hospitality, or tourism industry
