We are seeking a high caliber candidate to join the Center of Laboratory Supplies (CLS) in providing daily services to the University in chemical and consumable deliveries, with knowledge on Dangerous Goods compliance and warehouse operations. The appointee will also support CLS in managing the University Dangerous Goods (DG) stores and warehouse.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and Storing: Assist in receipt, delivery and storage of hazardous substances, laboratory consumables and chemical waste.
- Retrieval and Delivery: Retrieve chemicals and laboratory consumables from designated storage and carry out delivery to laboratory users.
- Maintenance Coordination: Maintain tools and operation equipment in good conditions, coordinating with other departments to execute maintenance works in DG stores and the warehouse.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A diploma or certificate in chemical science with at least 3 years work experience in a tertiary institution or attended secondary educations with substantial experience in chemical delivery, chemical waste collections and warehouse operations.
- Prior experience in working in laboratory environment is preferred.
- Knowledge in chemical inventory management (highly preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
(Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
