Malawi DMEAL Coordinator
Tearfund in Malawi is looking for an experienced Design Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator.
Under the direct supervision of the Country Director, the DMEAL Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that Malawi country programme has effective DMEAL (Design, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning) systems and processes that can track progress, capture evidence of impact and that facilitate continual learning and adaptation.
The role will build the technical DMEAL capacity of partner staff members in Malawi in turn enabling them to build the capacity of the local churches/church based organisations.
The role will work closely with the SEA region DME Advisor linked to the Impact and Effectiveness Team for the implementation of Tearfund corporate DME initiatives, standards and requirements, besides assisting in ensuring that corporate DME initiatives are contextually relevant.
In addition the role will support Tearfund's commitment to meeting the organisation's Quality Standards and international standards, working alongside relevant staff in Malawi to do this.
The job holder will contribute significantly to the work of the Tearfund work in Malawi through the following areas:
- Support the planning & implementation of DMEAL frameworks particularly Tearfund's global impact framework at three levels;
(i) country/response strategy level,
(ii) cross the country level, and
(iii) for partner projects/programmes.
- Advise partners on project design, programme development, implementation and funding applications (for restricted funding donors)
- DME Capacity building and accompaniment of frontline partner staff (and country office when part of a key country/response initiative)
- Contribute to the shaping and implementation of Tearfund's corporate impact & evidence initiatives.
- Improve knowledge management & learning within the Malawi country programme and contribute to corporate learning and knowledge management practices.
- Representation and networking both internally and externally
- Take lead to initiate and coordinate the documentation of Transformational impact stories
Tearfund is a UK based, Christian INGO working in 50 countries around the world, to lift people out of poverty, using local partners and churches wherever possible.
Do you have experience of:
- Statistical analysis experience and survey design
- Significant Monitoring and Evaluation experience in community development and/or humanitarian response
- Significant experience of implementing and managing monitoring and evaluation activities in large scale institutionally funded programmes
- Experience of working in Malawi
- Specific experience of strategy/portfolio tracking and assessing
Conducting research in a development/humanitarian related subject including experience with evidence communication/dissemination and utilisation e.g. publication, scientific and non-scientific writing
Please note: This is a fixed term, full time contract of 3 years, renewable.

The successful candidate will be offered an Annual Gross Salary of 29,784,799 MWK.
