FINANCE, LOGS & ADMIN OFFICER- Temporary cover [ 4 months]
Tearfund UK in Malawi is looking for an experienced Finance , Logs & Admin Officer.
This position is responsible for providing Financial and Accounting management support and capacity building functions to the Tearfund Malawi office and its partners by working closely with the Finance Manager. The responsibilities will include; compiling and maintaining financial records to provide timely and accurate financial information to enable the effective management of the Malawi office.
The role will also provide personnel and overall administrative support to the Malawi office and to work closely with the Finance Manager based in Lilongwe to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in accordance to Tearfund's financial and Logistics procedures, its Christian distinctiveness, code of conduct and the Malawi legal framework within which the Malawi Country programme operates.
They will support the country team staff at the programme head office plus at project sites with the responsibility for supporting in, setting up and implementing a coordinated logistics, administrative and financial function in support of the programme. In accordance with Tearfund policies and guidelines, to support a system of internal controls in order to safeguard Tearfund assets, mitigate against the risk of financial loss and fraud and satisfy donor and statutory audit requirements.
Tearfund is a UK based, Christian INGO working in 50 countries around the world, to lift people out of poverty, using local partners and churches wherever possible.
Do you have experience of:
- At least 2 years relevant working experience preferably in an INGO
- Financial management
- Document review & verification
- Bank & cash management
- Payroll management
- Compliance with donor rules/regulations and statutory obligation
- Internal control system
- Audit management
- Strong understanding of administration and logistics functions
- Proven experience in administration/ office management
- Stock movement tracking and control

Please note: This is a fixed term Temporary contract of 4 months based in Lilongwe, Malawi. Applicants must possess the right to live and work in Malawi.
The successful candidate will be offered a Monthly Basic Salary of MWK 2,463,254.
