The Global Engagement & Communications Office is seeking a detail-minded and self-motivated individual to support and coordinate content and short video production for media publicity. The appointee will liaise with faculty members and vendors to formulate video storyline, arrange interviews and shootings, collect relevant materials, and produce animation and artwork.
The appointee will be responsible for taking photos or videos for media publicity production; and assisting in media publicity by identifying stories, following-through media interviews, and organizing media events. The appointee will also provide administrative support to the team and perform any other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end production of short-form videos (social media reels, interview clips, explainers) and photography for media campaigns
- Develop engaging visual content (motion graphics, animations, infographics) to showcase research breakthroughs and institutional milestones Manage all production stages: concept development storyboarding filming
- post-production (editing/color grading/audio mixing)
- Identify newsworthy stories and repurpose academic content for media pitches and social platforms
- Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and campus media events
- Optimize content for different channels (traditional media, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, WeChat)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Creative Media/Journalism/Visual Communication + 3 years’ experience, OR Associate Degree/Higher Diploma in related field + 5 years’ hands-on multimedia production experience
- Portfolio demonstrating strong video editing (Premiere Pro/Final Cut), motion graphics (After Effects), and photo editing (Photoshop/Lightroom) skills
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop)
- Proficiency in social media video formats (9:16, 1:1, captioned content)
- Fluent English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua) for cross-platform content creation
- Ability to thrive under tight deadlines for media opportunities
- Exceptional organizational skills for simultaneous project management
Candidates with less experience but demonstrated potential will also be considered.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and a written test. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
