Programme Manager / Programme Officer (at the rank of Executive Officer/ Clerk I) in the Department of Politics and Public Administration (Ref.: 532743) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree with at least 2-3 years of post-qualification work experience in the education or business sector. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English; good communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills; the capability to work independently and under tight deadlines; and proficiency in IT. They should be fast learners, good team players, attentive to detail, and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility. Candidates with experience in tertiary institutions will have an advantage.
The appointee will provide administrative support to the programme management and research services of the Department. In particular, the appointee will oversee administrative work related to the Department’s postgraduate degree programmes. He/She is expected to report to various Programme Directors/Chairpersons and work alongside course teachers and student supervisors to monitor and advise students on their academic progress; provide secretarial support including, but not limited to, admissions, orientations, course enrolment, timetabling, examinations, graduation, programme committee meetings, and more; develop and execute curriculum plans; organize various student enrichment activities; and engage in student affairs management.
The appointee will also provide administrative support for departmental research-related activities, including but not limited to assisting with research applications, handling research agreements and ethical approvals, managing research staff, processing payments, reimbursements, tendering, procurement, and monitoring research project accounts. The appointee is expected to perform any other ad hoc/non-routine duties as assigned. Occasional work outside normal office hours or on weekends will be required.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointee will be given the functional title of Programme Manager / Programme Officer.
