About the Role
As Senior Client Manager, you'll be the trusted advisor to key clients in the HK & Taiwan market, developing deep relationships while identifying and creating innovative reinsurance solutions. You'll be responsible for managing client portfolios, driving business growth, and ensuring operational excellence across all client engagements and business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Life & Health (L&H) and Medical business for your accounts in the Hong Kong and Taiwan market, including the development of go-to-market strategies, business planning, KPI monitoring, and accountability for account management, experience and financial performance.
- Build and nurture strategic relationships with C-suite executives and decision-makers at assigned client organizations
- Originate new business opportunities and lead cross-functional teams to deliver differentiated solutions that align with clients' strategic growth objectives
- Support product innovation development, solutions sales, and thought leadership initiatives
- Monitor in-force portfolio performance by reviewing emerging experience, executing treaty actions as needed, identifying trends and risks, and implementing targeted remediation plans when necessary
- Ensure treaty operational excellence by leading cross-functional teams to deliver optimal account management, from onboarding to claims audits
- Contribute to the broader APAX Market Unit in cross-market initiatives and our regional sales community
- Provide coaching and development support to junior team members
About the Team
You'll join Swiss Re's dynamic Life & Health Hong Kong & Taiwan team in Asia, a team dedicated to providing innovative reinsurance solutions to clients. Working closely with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and other solutions teams, you'll be part of a collaborative environment that values expertise, client focus, and market leadership. The team combines deep technical knowledge with commercial acumen to deliver sustainable growth while maintaining Swiss Re's position as a market leader in the region.
About You
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in life (re)insurance.
- Outgoing and confident, with strong communication and negotiation skills. A self-starter and problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to think on your feet.
- Balanced risk management perspective, capable of driving business origination while maintaining vigilance towards emerging risks.
- Technical fluency and commercial awareness across the end-to-end treaty lifecycle.
- Good understanding of Life & Health insurance products in the market.
- Able to interpret experience studies and actuarial data and identify broader trends that may require actions.
- Possess a strong understanding of valuations, profitability, and experience analyses and understand their implications on the balance sheet.
- Results-driven and collaborative, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Excellent command of English; proficiency in Cantonese is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel as required (up to 10%).
