About the Role
Develop and profitably grow Swiss Re's business and relationship with assigned clients to achieve unit's overall objectives by:
- Growing and maintaining solid relationships and servicing of assigned clients and markets
- Be in the know of client and market developments
- Managing cross functional teams to effectively deliver the appropriate suite of SR solutions
- Underwriting selected treaties according to risk quality, risk appetite and Group guidelines
Accountabilities:
- Be the clients port of call: develop and maintain own personal contacts and drive the ongoing development of relationships at across different working levels between Swiss Re and client / intermediaries
- Identify and originate business opportunities with assigned clients through proactive, regular communication, including but not limited to client / industry/ global developments in conjunction with a considered viewpoint on the opportunities / threats to clients for such developments and how Swiss ray may be able to assist
- Manage an assigned portfolio of clients, with optimal and efficient utilization of SR resources and at all times ensuring appropriate premium and profitability targets are met
- Take a holistic view in relation to the allocated clients by ensuring an entire service proposition which considers all business opportunities, including facultative and treaty business, traditional or structured, and allocate the right level of service to each client
- Raise, maintain and enhance the leading profile of Swiss Re within the allocated markets
- Lead and effectively manage the cross functional team to ensure internal alignment to deliver optimally for our clients
- Underwrite within allocated underwriting authorities and in compliance with the appropriate guidelines and best practices
Professional Development:
- Market Knowledge - Maintain sufficient level of knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry and the legal & economic and social environment in all allocated markets in which the clients operate
- Maintain awareness of broad trends in key product areas in which the clients operate, and of developments initiatives in Swiss Re related to those product areas
- Develop and maintain A sufficient level of financial and analytical capabilities in order to effectively discuss relevant topics with clients
- Acquire and maintain an appropriate level of technical expertise and underwriting authority in order to underwrite selected treaties
About the Team
The strategic goal of the team is to develop, underweight, and sell profitable new and existing business opportunities across the non-life businesses, to provide the company with long term sustainable growth and profit.
About You
- 5 to 10 years of relevant insurance or reinsurance experience strong treaty underwriting background
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skill
- Highly motivated with the drive to achieve great results through the ability to exercise
- Good business judgment and be commercially minded
- Self starter, persistent, willingness and ability to learn quickly and think on one's feet
- Good network and markets knowledge within Asia - Hong Kong / Taiwan preferred
- Willing to travel as required
- Languages: English, Mandarin, Cantonese
