Trading Operations Engineer - Hedge Fund - Hong Kong
My client is seeking a motivated individual with a passion for technology and financial markets to join their APAC Trading Operations team. Ideal candidate will be enterprising and able to balance multiple priorities while collaborating closely with Traders, Developers, and System Engineers to drive shared success.
Job Description:
- Support & Operations: Provide rapid, hands-on support for in-house trading applications, ensuring system stability, performance, and reliable exchange connectivity.
- Infrastructure & Optimization: Configure, monitor, and optimize trading infrastructure using project and change management tools to meet evolving business needs.
- Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with developers to design and enhance proprietary applications, while driving structural improvements and adopting new technologies.
Job Requirements:
- 3yrs+ experience supporting trading applications in a financial services environment.
- Strong track record bridging L1 application support, infrastructure management, and cloud operations—ideally gained in a smaller firm or dynamic team where you’ve worn multiple hats.
- Proficiency in Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.
- Advanced scripting skills in Bash and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management.
- Solid working knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Familiarity with GitOps workflows (note: this is a critical area assessed in the technical test).
- Strong understanding of financial markets and trading workflows.
- Comfortable in fast-paced environments supporting mission-critical systems.
