Job Summary:
This is a greenfield development opportunity to design, build and implement the next generation derivatives platform. We are committed to modernize our infrastructure and aligning our operating model to a client-led framework. This is our key strategic project to bring innovation to market participants in trading, clearing and risk management of the derivatives markets.
Job Duties:
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join us in the Risk Management System application team. The incumbent will have the opportunity to develop and work with new technology. He/she will be part of the mission critical platform development team and will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned, enthusiastic technologists across the IT Division as well as the exposure to work with various business stakeholders across HKEX.
Job responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain models for option pricing, volatility calibration, margin calculation and other risk management tools.
- Responsible for system design and implementation in high quality standard throughout SDLC cycle
- Collaborate with risk managers, and other cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design and implement application that follows HKEX standard technology stacks and meets business requirements with adequate test case coverage and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Ensure application can meet all necessary technical and compliance requirements such as architecture, security and infrastructure and performance
- Maintain detailed documentation such as technical specifications, deployment procedures as well as contingency procedures
- Troubleshoot issues reported from system integration tests, business UAT and regression tests in a timely manner
- Provide ongoing production support and BAU tasks after go-live
- Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 8 years' system development experience in Java/ Python/ web front-end development
- Solid experience in application design and development in Java, Python, HTML5, NoSQL, RDBMS, Linux platform.
- Practical experience in Microservices, Container, Cloud, and REST API development
- Familiar with DevOps life cycles and tools (e.g. Jira, Git, Junit, Docker, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of quantitative finance concepts, including derivatives pricing, risk management, and portfolio optimization is a definite advantage.
- Experience in application security (OAuth2, API security) and messaging systems or in-house messaging bus implementation is an advantage
- Experience architecting / developing applications within the financial services or capital markets industry is an advantage
