Term Lecturer

Major Duties:

(a)

To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;

(b)

To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;

(c)

To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;

(d)

To carry out various administrative duties;

(e)

To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and

(f)

To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements:

(a)

A recognised degree in Applied Sciences / Health and Life Sciences, preferably in Animal Science, or related fields, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;

(b)

At least 3 years’ full-time relevant teaching and/or industry experience;

(c)

Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; and

(d)

Good records of linkage with the industry or with solid work experience would be an advantage.

Notes:

(1)

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of “Term Assistant Lecturer” at the rank of Teaching Associate.

(2)

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.

(3)

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.

(4)

The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
