Term Lecturer (Sports)

Major Duties:

(a)

To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;

(b)

To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;

(c)

To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;

(d)

To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and

(e)

To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.

Requirements:

(a)

A recognised degree or equivalent professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;

(b)

At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience in the sports industries, preferably in teaching the tertiary education sector;

(c)

Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;

(d)

Good records of linkage with the industry or professional bodies would be an advantage; and

(e)

Coaching qualification in one or more of the following sports: tennis, swimming, rope skipping, badminton, cycling, track & field, in-line skating, basketball, handball, baseball, volleyball, Lacrosse, yoga, rugby, social dance and aerobic dance etc.

Notes:

(1)

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of “Term Assistant Lecturer” at the rank of Teaching Associate.

(2)

Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.

(3)

Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.

(4)

The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
