Purpose of the Job
The Commercial Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving the promotion of merchandise across different departments. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, Sales & Merchandising, this role focuses on developing growth strategies to achieve business impact. The Commercial Manager works closely with the merchandising team and collaborates with colleagues in Operations, Marketing, and Supply Chain departments to ensure the alignment and execution of strategies.
Job Responsibilities Develop growth strategies for all portfolio and oversee the development of strategies Organize and maximize promotion opportunities amongst departments of different categories Event/Regular instore promotion/dumpbin/Gondola end display/Leaflet Monitoring promotion effectiveness and implementation at stores Promotion discount and price input Post promotion review Measure, monitor and lead team members accountable to goals. Build and develop high performing teams Coordinate with internal divisions, (marketing, operations, project team, etc) to execute the planned events and goals Investigate the complaints and propose remedial actions to prevent the possibility of any recurrence
Job Requirements
Core Attributes Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related disciplines. Experience: At least 8 years of merchandising experience, with a minimum of 2 years managing a professional retail, merchandising, or category management team. Proven track record of driving transformative performance in a retail business through innovative strategies. Technical Skills: Proficient in modern merchandising tools and systems (promotions, assortment, pricing, optimization, etc.). Strong command of PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, coordination, and analytical skills. Creative, customer-focused, and open to change. Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Positive, cooperative, and solutions-oriented with an impact-driven approach. Language Proficiency: Good command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese.
