The Director of the Middle Office serves as the Team Head of the Equity Sales operations team overseeing key functions such as transaction processing, risk management, and compliance. This leadership position is vital for maintaining efficient operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies in equity sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor the Middle Office team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
2. Account Management
- Oversee the account opening process and trading setup, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines.
- Monitor and manage periodic reviews of client accounts, ensuring regulatory and internal standards are met.
3. Risk & Compliance
- Establish and maintain robust risk management frameworks to monitor and mitigate risk exposures.
- Ensure timely preparation of regulatory reports and maintain comprehensive compliance records.
4. Client Support
- Act as a key point of contact for the sales team, addressing complex client inquiries related to trades and positions.
- Collaborate with sales to prepare detailed client reports and necessary documentation.
5. Internal Coordination
- Facilitate collaboration between departments (e.g., client onboarding, trading, compliance) to ensure seamless operations.
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of internal databases and records to support operational integrity.
Qualification
Oversee Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field form top-tier university.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience from an international or leading Chinese securities firm.
- Proven experience in middle office functions, particularly in equity sales or trading environments.
- Strong understanding of risk management and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Familiarity with relevant financial software is a plus.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
